I'm involved in 2 events happening in Nicaragua in the next 6 months and I'd like you to know about them.

The first is an effort to raise funds to build a new preschool for the community of Laguna Seca. The current preschool is in rough shape. Built of boards with a tarp roof that covers half the small building, it is in rough shape.Community members came to Planting Hope, a non-profit based in Vermont and working in the San Ramon area of Nicaragua, and asked for assistance in building a new preschool.

The second event is a service learning trip for IT professionals that I'll be leading to San Ramon in January of 2011. We're calling this FairTech 2011 and it will provide an opportunity share knowledge and expertise with community members and IT students from the region.
